The needs of having a new school

The current school building is facing several significant challenges:

  1. 🌧️ Water Leaks: Multiple water leaks are present throughout the building.

  2. 💦 High Humidity: Classrooms suffer from high humidity levels, creating an uncomfortable learning environment.

  3. 🪚 Limited Improvements: As the building is rented, substantial improvements cannot be made.

  4. 🧑🏻‍🦽 Inclusivity Barriers: The building lacks inclusive spaces for all students.

Limitations in the current School

"We do not want our children to face health issues due to the high humidity in the current house, so the need arose to find a more suitable space for all the students." - Daniel Chan, Founder of Vida Guatemala NGO

Why we needed a new building?

Thanks to the support of one of our grant recipients, we were able to purchase our own school this year. Located in San Miguel Dueñas, this new facility will house all our current students and hopefully even more in the future. This achievement would not have been possible without the collaboration of all of you.

However, we are still in the early stages and have many needs to accommodate the new school. Your continued support is crucial. Please consider making a donation to help us create a better learning environment for our students. Every contribution makes a significant difference.

''Our first option was to stay in the current school house, but there was no support due to its limitations, such as the lack of inclusion for wheelchair users. Along the way, a donor appeared, which was a great achievement but also brought significant challenges. This has meant that we have had to allocate all our resources, originally intended for our development, to ensure the habitability of the new school, as it is the root of our needs''.
